One of my favourite days of the year is when I visit the pre-school kids and give a talk on being safe with medicines. The aim of the chat is to educate children and make them aware of;
How similar sweets and tablets can look
To only take medicine given to them by a parent
To re-assure them that medicine is there to make them feel better
Showing the kids how similar sweets are to tablets and to make sure that they don’t take tablets by mistake.
Every child loves getting cartoon plasters. Scratches and discomfort are soon forgotten!
The visit ended with us giving a special Pharmacy lollipop to everyone in the audience!
